Michael Patroni has been the Director of his own architectural practice for more than 20 years. He has a vast range of experience at various scales of residential, commercial and community based projects. He has received numerous architectural and industry awards for his work throughout his career.
In 2000 the name of the practice was changed from Michael Patroni Architects, to spaceagency architects.
In October 2005 Michael completed a Masters of Architecture degree at R.M.I.T in Melbourne. He was invited to participate in the Masters programme which had been established to allow practitioners with a significant body of work an opportunity to reflect on the past work of their practice and in doing so identify design strategies which have shaped their practice’s approach to architecture and speculate on future design strategies that could inform the on going work of the practice.
The outcome of this process highlighted for Michael his own intense interest in the poetic quality of built space from an experiential perspective. He strives to create architecture that creates opportunities for spatial experiences that delight and engage the inhabitant as well as the innocent bystander.
